I believe most states have laws about this, however I, and a few of my friends did it on 1200 Goldwings, and never experienced any problems with the law. The amber lights made the bikes much more visible at night. I traveled through a few states, and I know my friends have traveled cross country. Still the law is the law. Just an observation.
